3️⃣ Spotlight Story

FoCo Fondo: Gravel Bikes, Craft Beer, and Very Fort Collins Energy

FoCo Fondo started as a gravel cycling event at New Belgium — part race, part party, distinctly Fort Collins.

It routes through the open range north and west of the city, using the landscape most residents have only ever seen from their car window.

This year it runs July 16–19. Pre-registration is required for the race itself. The vendor expo, live music, and beer garden at New Belgium are free and open throughout the weekend.

It's one of those events that's hard to explain to someone who's never been to Fort Collins — but if you live here, gravel bikes plus craft beer plus Colorado open range makes complete sense.

🐾 Pet Corner

Hi! I'm Bonnie and I'm a shy lady looking for a quiet home where I can be the only dog. I will need a patient and loving home who can teach me to live inside and walk on leash so I can have fun going on adventures. I have a good history with kids and will do best in a home with older kids. I can't wait to meet you!

❄️ Seasonal PSA

Peak July heat in Fort Collins means early mornings or late evenings for extended outdoor activity.

If you're heading to FoCo Fondo's outdoor venues or spending time near the Poudre, plan around the midday heat — it's that time of year.

😂 Humor Break

FoCo Fondo describes itself as “rooted in the insanity of a Fondo with the levity of the Fort Collins community.”

That is a precise description of how Fort Collins approaches most things.

A gravel race sponsored by a brewery where the beer garden is free — calibrated exactly to this city.

🗣️ Local Voices

The strongest local voice this week is the event itself: FoCo Fondo turning bikes, beer, open range, and summer weirdness into a full Fort Collins weekend.

It does not need to be overexplained. Some events feel imported. This one feels homegrown.

🎯 Wrap-Up

Bikes and brews at New Belgium, a free building festival in Old Town, the last weekend of summer sales, and two morning markets.

Fort Collins has a lot going on July 17–19.
