SPOTLIGHT STORY — People or Places to Know
Power Trail Harmony Crossing Project
The city of Fort Collins has embarked on a major infrastructure upgrade with the Power Trail Harmony Crossing project, designed to close the connectivity gap between Golden Meadows Park and Keenland Drive. The highlight of the initiative is a new under-pass beneath Harmony Road, allowing uninterrupted and safe access for pedestrians and cyclists along the Power Trail. The project underscores the city’s commitment to enhancing non-motorized mobility and networked pathways across neighborhoods. Construction began November 12 and is a tangible step forward for active transportation infrastructure in Fort Collins. Fort Collins+1
This investment not only improves usability of the trail system, but supports Fort Collins’ broader ambition to integrate walking and biking into daily transit choices, improve connectivity between parks and neighborhoods, and reduce friction for active-commute options. With construction underway, residents can look forward to an elevated trail experience and enhanced safety features at a key arterial crossing.

PET CORNER — Meet Bernie, Your FoCo Mood Booster of the Week

Bernie is the kind of office visitor everyone hopes walks through the door — cheerful, patient, and proudly carrying his favorite toy everywhere he goes. He’s a small, fluffy bundle of friendliness with big brown eyes and a tail that never stops moving.
He spends his days greeting people, spreading joy, and checking in on anyone who looks like they could use a moment of calm. Whether he’s offering his favorite toy or quietly sitting beside a chair, Bernie’s goal seems simple: make the day a little lighter for everyone he meets.
A perfect reminder of why we love highlighting pets — the right furry friend can turn even a busy weekday into something warm.
