SPOTLIGHT STORY — Local Momentum Worth Noticing

Fort Collins continues to build around one of its strongest advantages: community-driven growth that actually feels local. CSU has been leaning further into partnerships that connect students, businesses, and residents in ways that extend beyond campus.

Recent initiatives highlighted by CSU Source show increased focus on sustainability programs, local business collaboration, and community-facing research efforts. These aren’t just internal projects—they’re showing up in real ways across Fort Collins, from local events to environmental impact work.

What stands out is how these efforts don’t feel isolated. They tie into the broader rhythm of FoCo—local businesses, outdoor access, and a community that tends to show up when something matters.

It’s one of those quiet advantages of living here. You don’t always notice it week to week, but it shapes the kind of place Fort Collins continues to be.

🐾PET CORNER — Adoptable Sweetheart (via NOCO Humane)

Looking to expand your crew? Check out NOCO Humane’s adoption roster — a great local resource for folks in Fort Collins and beyond. NOCO Humane+1

Meet James! I am a working cat looking for my new home. I have likely lived the outdoor life for my entire life and I’ll be returning to that same lifestyle in your barn, storage shed, or other outdoor building. When you take me home, you may not see me after I’ve gotten adjusted, but I’ll be busily working away behind the scenes.

If you have a rodent problem, we have your solution - adopt one of our working cats today! All of our working cats come altered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, FeLV/FIV negative and ready to work.

Working cats are mousers that need to live outside of city limits in a barn or outdoor building. All they require are two square meals a day, fresh water and future veterinary care. Due to their behavior, these cats are not suited for normal adoption as indoor pets. However, their love for the outdoors, need for a job and thirst for adventure will ensure your barn or shed will stay pest free for years to come!

I won’t be a cuddly companion – I’m a working cat, and am looking for a job! If you reside outside of city limits and have a barn or shop for me to keep an eye on, I might be the companion for you!

My adopter will need to provide me with nutritious food, fresh water, shelter and future veterinary care.
