WEEKEND HYPE — What’s Worth Doing in FoCo
March weekends in Fort Collins start to wake up a bit. Old Town gets busier, breweries start filling patios again, and the event calendar quietly picks up.
Here are four picks worth circling before the weekend disappears.
🎨 First Friday Art Walk — Old Town
The Gist: Dozens of galleries and businesses open late with art, music, and local exhibits throughout Old Town Friday evening.
Why It Matters: It’s one of the easiest ways to enjoy Old Town without committing to a big event — walk, browse, grab a drink, repeat.
🎶 An Evening with Keller Williams — Washington’s
The Gist: Acoustic jam legend Keller Williams plays a live show Saturday night at Washington’s in downtown Fort Collins.
Why It Matters: Washington’s remains one of the best small venues in town — great sound and walkable from dinner.
🆓 International Women’s Day Celebration — Odell Brewing
The Gist: Odell Brewing hosts a Sunday International Women’s Day celebration with community activities and programming.
Why It Matters: Free events at Odell tend to draw a relaxed FoCo crowd and are a great reason to spend a Sunday afternoon there.
🎸 Live Music: Los Cheesies — Magic Rat
The Gist: Funk and jam band Los Cheesies bring a high-energy set to the Magic Rat inside The Elizabeth Hotel.
Why It Matters: The Magic Rat quietly hosts some of the most fun live shows in Old Town.

WORTH THE PARKING
Ginger and Baker (Linden St.)
Yes, parking near Linden can feel like a personality test. Still: the building is pure Fort Collins, and it’s one of the few spots that can pull off “coffee + pastry” and “let’s take a cooking class” without feeling forced.

RESTAURANT & BREWERY SPOTLIGHT
🍺 Odell Brewing Company — East Fort Collins
A Fort Collins staple with a big patio and constantly rotating beers. The taproom draws a wide local crowd, and events like the International Women’s Day gathering keep it lively this weekend.
🍻 Zwei Brewing — South Fort Collins
If you want something quieter than Old Town breweries, Zwei’s German-inspired lagers and relaxed atmosphere make it an easy weekend stop.
🍽️ Ginger and Baker — Old Town
Still one of the best “bring family or out-of-town guests” spots in FoCo. Bakery downstairs, café upstairs, and frequent cooking classes.

SPOTLIGHT STORY — The Lincoln Center Still Anchors FoCo Arts
Fort Collins has grown fast, but the Lincoln Center remains one of the city’s cultural anchors.
Opened in 1978 after a community-funded initiative, the venue became Northern Colorado’s largest performing arts center. It now hosts touring theatre productions, music, dance, community performances, and visual arts exhibits throughout the year.
Beyond national performances, the venue works closely with local partners like Fort Collins Symphony, OpenStage Theatre, and regional arts organizations. That partnership model keeps the schedule packed with both professional productions and homegrown talent.
For longtime residents, the Lincoln Center often marks milestones — school performances, community concerts, or the occasional big touring show.
For newer residents, it’s one of the easiest ways to plug into the cultural side of Fort Collins.

💛 FEEL-GOOD FOCO — Good News
CSU continues expanding programs focused on community engagement, including arts programming and campus exhibitions open to the public.
Residents who don’t have direct ties to the university still get access to lectures, exhibits, performances, and cultural programming throughout the year.
For a city the size of Fort Collins, that kind of access is unusual. Many university events remain affordable or free, and they quietly contribute to the cultural life of the entire community.
If you haven’t walked the CSU campus recently, spring weekends are one of the best times to explore.

Early spring weather in Northern Colorado still swings fast. Warm afternoons can turn into icy evenings, especially toward the foothills or Poudre Canyon. Check conditions before heading out.
